The Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, has ensured strong action against anyone undermining public trust in Government institutions. Following a directive from the President, the Minister stated that legal steps would be taken against those who break the law and damage the reputation of state bodies.
This statement comes as Maldives Police investigate allegations of corruption within Maldives Immigration. It is reported that five employees have been accepting money illegally to help foreigners engage in activities that go against the country’s laws and regulations.
Searches have been carried out at the homes of the accused, where electronic devices and other items related to the case were seized. Minister Ihusaan assured the public that more information would be shared as the investigation continues.
The Minister strongly warned Government employees to avoid actions that could harm the credibility of state institutions. He also stressed that the Government has no tolerance for corruption and will take strict action to protect the integrity of its organisations.
This case highlights the Government’s commitment to fighting corruption and ensuring that public trust in institutions is maintained. It also serves as a reminder to all officials to carry out their duties with honesty and integrity.
