Alifu Alifu Rasdhoo is set to undergo two major development projects with the construction of a new council office and the modernisation of local roads.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited the island as part of his ongoing tour of Alifu Alifu Atoll. During the visit, Minister of Cities, Administration and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Rasdhoo Council Office building. The project has been contracted to Rasheed Carpentry and Construction.

Rasdhoo Council Office project is part of a nationwide programme to replace dilapidated council buildings. Over the next five years, the Government plans to construct new facilities for more than 100 island councils to improve working conditions and strengthen the delivery of administrative services.

Alongside this initiative, the Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been entrusted with the project to modernise roads in Rasdhoo. An agreement was signed for the project, with Dr Abdulla Muththalib representing the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, and RDC Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem signing on behalf of the Corporation.

The Administration assured that although road development and modernisation projects are ongoing across the country, asphalt roads will never be mandated by the authorities. Instead, President Dr Muizzu has assured that road development, specially in islands with increasing local tourism, will be carried out in a sustainable, eco-friendly manner.
