During a meeting with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Alifu Alifu Ukulhas Council members highlighted pressing housing needs and space constraints in the Council office.

President Dr Muizzu held the discussions with council members, institutional heads, and community representatives at the Ukulhas Council Secretariat to address key issues affecting the island.

Healthcare was also raised as a major concern, with members noting limited space at the island’s health centre, delays in ongoing construction work, and a shortage of medical staff.

Students shared concerns over the absence of a library and a science laboratory at the island’s school, emphasising the difficulties they face in accessing proper educational facilities.

In response, President Dr Muizzu assured the Council that the Administration would work towards practical solutions and provided updates on projects currently underway, with further details shared by Ministers and heads of State-Owned Enterprises.
