MTCC contracted to build new health centres in two islands

The Government has contracted the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to build new health centre facilities in Kaafu Kaashidhoo and Vaavu Fulidhoo, strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the two islands.

The agreements were signed on behalf of the Ministry of Health by Minister of State for Health Ismail Abdulla, while MTCC was represented by Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Jamsheed. Members of Parliament representing the constituencies were also in attendance at the signing ceremony.

According to the Ministry, the Kaashidhoo Health Centre project, valued at MVR 7.1 million, is scheduled to be completed within 240 days. The new facility will include wards, nurse stations, laboratories, procedure rooms, private rooms, garages, and storage spaces.

Meanwhile, the Fulidhoo Health Centre project is budgeted at MVR 27 million, with a construction timeline of 360 days. Both projects are aimed at enhancing access to quality medical services and improving healthcare delivery for residents of the two islands.
