A Special Education Needs (SEN) classroom has been developed in Thaa Veymandoo School with the support of the Bank of Maldives (BML) Fund.

The project was carried out by Veymandoo Zuvaanunge Gulhun, a winner of the BML Fund 2024. Through the grant, the NGO was able to complete the construction and finishing works of the classroom, creating a dedicated space to support students in developing fine and gross motor skills. The school has also announced plans to expand activities in the space to include life skills classes such as cooking and sewing.

BML has been a consistent supporter of education for students with special needs. Earlier this year, the bank funded SEN classrooms in Salahuddin School in Hulhumalé and Hiriya School in Malé.

Each year, the BML Fund supports five sustainable and innovative projects in the areas of education, environment, sports, and community development. Winning projects receive MVR 200,000 in funding.
