National Awards conferred to 13 recipients on National Day

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conferred the National Award of Honour to three recipients and the National Award of Recognition to ten recipients during the official National Day ceremony held in Haa Alifu Utheemu.

The National Award of Honour was presented to:

  • Sheikh Ismail Mohamed – for his services in spreading religious awareness, service to religion, and religious education.
  • Mohamed Mauroof Jameel – for his contributions in the field of construction and building design.
  • Late Mohamed Majid – for his outstanding achievements in the performing arts.

The National Award of Recognition was presented to:

  • Husna Fahmy – for her work in writing and publishing books in the Dhivehi language and literature.
  • Izza Ahmed Nizar – for her contributions to Dhivehi language and literature
  • Dr Abdul Azeez Hameed – for his services to healthcare and public health awareness.
  • Amira Sulaiman – for her contributions to the development of Maldivian traditional medicine.
  • Fathimath Ibrahim – for her work in social protection, the promotion of human rights, and services to children and people with special needs.
  • Ahmed Waheed Ali – for his contributions to social services and community development.
  • Ooredoo Maldives – for its role in commercial and economic development.
  • Aleemudhin – for his contributions to craftsmanship and the advancement of the craft.
  • Mohamed Jailam – for his contributions in communication, information technology, and software development.
  • Zahiyya Mohamed – for her work in engagement in fields not traditionally pursued by women.

The awards were presented in recognition of the recipients’ distinguished contributions to national progress, culture, and community welfare.
