Haa Dhaalu Finey witnessed the launch of key development projects today, as President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated an ATM service and presided over groundbreaking ceremonies for a police station and a fitness and recreation centre.

The ATM service, introduced by the Bank of Maldives (BML), was formally launched with President Dr Muizzu making the first transaction. He was joined at the ceremony by BML’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef. The expansion is part of BML’s nationwide programme to provide ATM services in all inhabited islands.

As part of the visit, Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan officiated the groundbreaking of the Finey Police Station, accompanied by Commissioner of Police Mohamed Naveen. Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the Finey Fitness and Recreation Centre.

President Dr Muizzu’s trip to Finey forms part of his ongoing tour of 13 inhabited islands in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, which includes visits to Hanimaadhoo, Naivaadhoo, Hirimaradhoo, Nellaidhoo, Nolhivaranfaru, Kurinbi, Nolhivaran, Kulhudhuffushi, Kumundhoo, Vaikaradhoo, Neykurendhoo and Makunudhoo. The visits aim to engage directly with councils and residents to discuss development priorities across the atoll.
