Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen has emphasised that the police uniform represents the heavy responsibility and duty of serving the public.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the 40th Police Basic Training Course, Commissioner Naveen said the completion of training marks the beginning of the recruits’ professional journey. He urged the new officers to uphold integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights in their work.
Commissioner Naveen also highlighted punctuality as a vital quality and reminded graduates that they are guardians of society who must maintain the dignity of the police service.
The training was held at the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement’s centre in Vaanee, Dhaalu Atoll, with 116 out of 138 students successfully graduating.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan and other senior officials. Awards were presented to outstanding graduates, with Sergeant Mohamed Arshad receiving the Commissioner’s Excellence Award as Best All-Round Student. Ainella squad was named Best Squad, while the top students from each squad were also recognised.
