The annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, a global initiative to raise awareness about violence against women and girls, kicked off on 25 November and will run until 10 December.

These dates are significant, as 25 November marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and the campaign culminates on 10 December, International Human Rights Day.

This year’s theme, “One woman is killed every 10 minutes. #NoExcuse. Unite to stop violence against women and girls!”, highlights the urgency of addressing violence in all its forms.

The campaign calls on individuals to take part in awareness programmes, raise their voices against gender-based violence, and advocate for safer environments for women. Supporting women’s rights organisations is a key focus, along with fostering safe and secure workplaces through targeted efforts to educate employees and promote awareness.
