The Maldives Police Service is conducting an extensive investigation into suspected fuel theft and money-laundering operations at Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM), Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, announced on his official X account tonight.

According to Minister Ihusaan, the investigation has already led to significant developments, with special police units conducting searches on 10 individuals, two properties and two fuel barges. Investigators have also seized relevant electronic devices and documents connected to the case.

The Minister stated that the police would continue to release more details to the public as the investigation progresses.

He emphasised that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu places a high priority on swift and thorough investigations of such cases, ensuring that legal action is taken without exception or favouritism.
