A series of major infrastructure projects have been launched in Shaviyani Narudhoo during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing atoll visit. The Government has contracted the Road Development Corporation (RDC) to construct a new health centre building. Meanwhile, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) was awarded a MVR 20 million coastal protection project that will see over 30,000 cubic metres of sand used for shoreline works.

Additional projects inaugurated include the construction of a new waste management centre, officiated by Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim and Fenaka Corporation MD Mohamed Najah, and the groundbreaking of a new police station, contracted to Fenaka and inaugurated by Minister of Homeland Security Ali Ihusaan. The Government stated these developments are part of its wider plan to expand essential services across all inhabited islands.
