Several major development projects have been launched in Shaviyani Milandhoo, during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing visit to the island. The second phase of the Milandhoo road development project, valued at MVR 134 million and to be completed in 900 days, was awarded to the Road Development Corporation (RDC). In addition, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has been contracted to build 50 three-room apartments within 280 days, while the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been tasked with a MVR 50.4 million coastal protection project involving 712 metres of revetment and 228 metres of groyne.

Alongside these projects, groundbreaking ceremonies were held for a new Islamic Centre, Police station and a new hospital. Passport issuance services were also officially launched in Milandhoo by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan, fulfilling a Government pledge to establish passport and card services in all atolls.
