China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) has donated six stormwater pumps to the Government of Maldives to support flood management efforts in the Greater Malé region.

The official handover ceremony was held on Monday at Hulhumalé Central Park and attended by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. The pumps were formally handed over by Liu Xiaoda, Deputy General Manager of CMEC, and received on behalf of the Government by Minister of Defence Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon.

The event was attended by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Kong Xianhua, senior Government officials, and representatives from CMEC.
