Minister Nazim praises President’s policies to improve health sector

Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has praised President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s policies aimed at strengthening the health sector, describing them as the strongest set of reforms introduced by any administration.
The Minister made the remarks while speaking at the 25th anniversary celebrations of Noonu Holhudhoo Health Centre. He noted that the President consistently emphasises the importance of healthcare in public addresses, reflecting the Administration’s focus on improving health services across the country.
The Minister said the Government has allocated its largest-ever budget to the health sector this year, with significant attention being given to upgrading health centres in the atolls. He added that efforts are underway to improve the quality, accessibility, and reliability of services provided to the public.
He also acknowledged the work of previous administrations in developing the health sector, noting that healthcare remains an essential public service. However, he stated that the current Government is working to further strengthen the system through continued investments and development initiatives.
The Minister also recognised the dedication of healthcare workers, stating that many continue to serve communities with commitment despite challenging conditions.
