Key agreements were signed in Raa Dhuvaafaru on Saturday to advance road development, water and sewerage services, and housing, during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s official visit to the island.

An agreement for the construction of 50 housing units was signed between Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib and Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Managing Director Ali Zuhair.

The agreement for Phase Three of the Dhuvaafaru road development project was signed between Minister Dr Muththalib and Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) Managing Director Ahmed Saudee. The project will also include road development works in the island’s newly reclaimed area.

In addition, an agreement was signed to provide water and sewerage services to the newly reclaimed land in Dhuvaafaru. The agreement was signed between Minister Dr Muththalib and Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed.

The agreements form part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, housing and essential services across the islands.
