MMTV has announced the opening of applications for its Quran recitation competition, titled ‘شفاء ورحمة’, to mark the holy month of Ramadan, with a total prize pool of MVR 500,000.

Now in its second edition, the competition aims to encourage Quran recitation, promote proper Tajweed and foster a deeper appreciation of the Quran among Maldivians. The initiative also seeks to enhance religious awareness and strengthen spiritual connection during Ramadan.

Participants are required to submit a video recording of their Quran recitation by 4:00 p.m. on 31 January 2025. Submissions must be sent via Telegram to MMTV’s official contact number, 9461115.

The competition is organised into multiple age categories, with the top 10 participants selected from each category. The age categories are:

• Under 4 years

• 4 to 6 years

• 6 to 9 years

• 9 to 12 years

• 12 to 15 years

• 15 to 18 years

• 18 years and above
