President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings on the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar.

In a message shared via his official X account, the President conveyed his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister for Foreign Affairs, as well as to the Government and the brotherly people of Qatar.

The President stated that Qatar has been a reliable friend and development partner of the Maldives, noting that the country’s contributions over the years have benefited Maldivians in invaluable ways. He added that he is confident the strong and friendly relations between the Maldives and Qatar will continue to flourish in the future.

In his message, President Dr Muizzu also expressed his wish for lasting peace in Qatar and said he hopes the country will continue to serve as a beacon of progress and prosperity.

Qatar’s National Day is celebrated annually on 18 December.
