Bank of Maldives has established two new automated teller machine (ATM) centres in Hulhumalé Phase II, expanding access to Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) and United States Dollar (USD) banking services for residents and businesses in the area.
The expansion includes an ATM centre at the Hiyaa Flat area, where one MVR ATM has been installed, and a second ATM centre at Eku Hiyaa, which houses both MVR and USD ATMs.
The new ATM centres were inaugurated on Thursday at ceremonies attended by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed. Also present were Bank of Maldives Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, and senior officials of the Bank.
Speaking at the inauguration, CEO Mohamed Shareef said the establishment of the new ATM centres reflects the Bank’s continued efforts to improve access to financial services. In addition to the newly opened centres, Bank of Maldives maintains a strong presence across Hulhumalé, operating a branch and four Self-Service Banking Centres in Hulhumalé Phase I, as well as one Self-Service Banking Centre in Phase II. The Bank has also established a USD ATM at the Renaatus Ithaa Mui building in Hulhumalé Phase I.
