The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has extended the deadline for submitting expressions of interest (EOIs) from consultancy firms for the design of a new generation fishing vessel, under the World Bank–supported TransFORM Project.

According to an addendum issued to the original announcement, the revised deadline for EOI submissions is 28 December 2025 at 2:00 p.m., extending the earlier timeline provided in the invitation. The consultancy is being procured under the Transforming Fisheries Sector Management in the South-West Indian Ocean Region and Maldives Project, which is financed through assistance from the World Bank.

The Ministry stated that it intends to use part of the financing received for the project to engage a qualified consultancy firm to design a modern fishing vessel aligned with the objectives of fisheries sector reform and sustainability. The assignment forms part of efforts to modernise fisheries infrastructure and strengthen management practices within the Maldives and the wider region.

Eligible consultancy firms are invited to submit EOIs demonstrating their capacity and relevant experience to carry out the assignment. Submissions are required to include a formal letter of interest, company registration documents, a company profile, evidence of meeting the technical requirements outlined in the terms of reference, and details of similar assignments previously completed. Firms must also provide reference or work completion letters and copies of successfully concluded contracts.

The Ministry noted that the consultancy will be selected in accordance with applicable procurement guidelines under the project. Further information regarding the submission process can be obtained from the Ministry.
