Maldives Immigration has opened visa applications for Hafiz travelling to the Maldives to lead Taraweeh prayers during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
According to Immigration, Hafiz and those accompanying them may now apply through the IMUGA portal, subject to the submission of required documents, including a copy of the passport data page, a recent photograph and the permit declaration issued by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. The visa will allow each Hafiz to stay in the Maldives for 45 daysfrom the date of arrival.
The authority stated that family members travelling with Hafiz must also obtain approval through the portal before entering the country. While Hafiz will be granted a special visa category, family members will be issued a tourist visa upon arrival, provided the sponsorship declaration is completed in advance.
Immigration noted that the programme is intended for individuals brought in to perform Taraweeh prayers and religious recitation in mosques during Ramadan. The responsibility for fulfilling visa conditions and ensuring departure before expiry will rest with the person or organisation authorised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
The department has advised applicants and their sponsors to ensure compliance with entry requirements and to confirm all documentation is submitted before travel. Applications are now open for those intending to bring Hafiz to the Maldives for Ramadan.
