The Ministry of Health has launched a new digital software suite designed to improve coordination and service efficiency across health facilities in the Maldives.
The systems were introduced at a ceremony held at the Health Ministry, attended by Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar and Minister of Health Nazim Ibrahim. According to the Ministry, the software has been developed to increase connectivity with regional facilities and strengthen management across the health sector.
The suite includes four systems: a human resources system to manage staffing, a case management system to address service-related requests, a Health Desk support platform to streamline communication between facilities and the Ministry, and a medical stock inventory system to track supplies digitally and provide real-time updates to central authorities. Officials stated that these tools are intended to reduce administrative delays, improve information flow, and allow issues raised by health centres to be monitored and acted upon more efficiently.
The Ministry noted that further digital services are being developed to support document handling and broader administrative requirements. Senior representatives from health centres across the country attended the launch, and the Ministry confirmed that the systems will be introduced nationwide as implementation moves forward.
