The Thoddoo Island Council has emphasised that direct presidential engagement with residents is paramount for optimising local development initiatives, showing clear support for this hands-on approach to governance.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Thoddoo Council and Women's Development Committee members at the council premises in AA. Atoll this morning to discuss local development.
During the meeting, council members highlighted pressing healthcare needs, requesting an enhanced medical facility. They also discussed overcrowding at Thoddoo School and sought additional funding options to strengthen the island's economy.
The President affirmed his commitment to incorporate his pledged initiatives within the budget framework, while confirming the continuation of the island's road infrastructure project.
Ministers accompanying the President also provided updates on ongoing development projects on the island.
The proceedings concluded with the President signing the council's visitors' book.
