The Ministry of Climate Change, Environment, and Energy has launched a five-day training session on the Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP) as part of the CBIT Maldives Project.

The training, which commenced today, is designed to familiarise participants with LEAP's user interface, terminology, and its powerful capabilities in modeling energy demand and supply, energy-related emissions, and assessing the costs and benefits of various energy systems.

Leading the training are Dr Charlotte Wagner, a scientist from the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), and Benise Joseph from MRVhub/GHGMI.

The CBIT Maldives Project, aimed at enhancing the country's capacity to address climate change, is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and supported by UN Environment.

The training session will engage participants in understanding the complexities of energy systems and help them utilise LEAP to better manage and analyse energy-related data. The Ministry expressed anticipation for an engaging and productive week, with participants gaining valuable skills to support the country's climate change mitigation goals.
