A man has been fined MVR 2,000 after being found in possession of a large quantity of vapes and vape cartridgesduring a police operation in Hulhumalé Phase I, the Maldives Police Service said. The search, conducted on 20 March based on intelligence information, led to the seizure of 106 vapes and 571 cartridges in a joint operation by the Crime Intelligence Unit and the Special Enforcement Team.

Police said no arrests have been made in connection with the case, with investigations ongoing. The seizure comes amid continued enforcement of the Tobacco Control Act, following recent amendments regulating vape-related products
