Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen, has announced that a project to develop seven parking buildings in the Malé area will commence in the near future.
The announcement was made in a post shared by the Minister on X, where he stated that preparations are underway to begin construction of multiple parking facilities shortly.
Minister Ameen highlighted that the seven parking buildings will collectively accommodate more than 2,600 four-wheeled vehicles and 1,000 two-wheeled vehicles, significantly expanding parking capacity in the capital.
He further noted that the project is being implemented under the guidance of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, as part of the Administration’s efforts to address urban challenges.
Parking congestion has long been a major concern for residents of the Malé area, with the increasing number of vehicles making it difficult to find adequate parking spaces. The planned development is expected to help ease these challenges and improve traffic management across the city.
