First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended groundbreaking of isolation facility at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.

A special ceremony was held in Kulhudhuffushi to mark the start of the project, with Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim officiating the commencement of works.

The development is being carried out under the Maldives COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness Project, implemented by the Ministry of Health with financing support from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

In addition to the isolation facility, the project will include private rooms and a convertible quarantine facility with an auditorium capable of accommodating up to 800 people.
