President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appealed to the public to prioritise national interest and development, urging them to vote for Congress Party candidates in the elections scheduled for tomorrow.

He made the appeal while addressing a large gathering of supporters at the 'Rayyithunge Bodu Hingaalun' rally in Rasfannu to conclude the election campaign. The President stressed that the upcoming Local Council elections, along with the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections, are crucial in shaping the country’s national direction.

He called on all citizens to participate in the vote with a strong sense of national responsibility, underscoring that voting is both a fundamental and constitutional right that must be exercised conscientiously.

The President assured that votes cast in favour of the ruling party’s candidates would be votes citizens could take pride in, promising outcomes that would benefit the public without leading to disappointment. He emphasised that the trust placed in the party would translate into tangible results for the people.

He further stressed that granting opportunities to those opposed to the Government could hinder development efforts across the islands. Drawing on past experience, he noted that such setbacks had occurred before and urged voters not to allow a repeat.

Concluding his remarks, President Dr Muizzu made a sincere appeal for public support, encouraging voters to back the party’s candidates in the interest of national progress and continued development.
