The People’s National Congress (PNC) has secured all seats in Shaviyani Funadhoo in the Local Council elections and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

All five candidates who contested on PNC tickets for the island council, including both the president and member positions, were successfully elected.

Similarly, all five candidates who ran under the PNC banner for the Women’s Development Committee, including the president and member roles, also secured victory in the elections.

While the PNC lost several city mayoral positions in Saturday’s elections, the party achieved significant success across many islands, securing a majority of council and WDC seats nationwide.
