Member of Parliament for Baarah constituency Ibrahim Shujau has said that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has demonstrated how a leader should respect the decision of the people, following the outcome of the recent Local Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections and public referendum.

In a post shared on X, the MP stated that the President continues to listen closely to the public and remains committed to serving their interests, describing him as a leader who values democratic principles and public participation.

MP Shujau said the President’s response to the election results reflects a respect for the decisions made by citizens, noting that such an approach is not always observed in political leadership, while adding that the current administration has set a positive example in this regard.

He also expressed his full support for the President’s policies, stating that the Government remains focused on serving the public and aligning its actions with the interests of the people.

Following the elections, President Dr Muizzu affirmed that the Government would proceed with necessary improvements in line with the outcome of the vote, while formally accepting the results of the nationwide polls.
