Maldivian Ambassador presents letter of Credence to the Chinese President

Dr Fazeel Najeeb, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the People’s Republic of China, formally submitted his Letter of Credence to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The ceremony took place at the prestigious Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
As part of the proceedings, Ambassador Dr Najeeb conveyed warm greetings and well wishes from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, and the Maldivian people to President Xi and the citizens of China.
President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations to Ambassador Najeeb on his appointment, expressing his welcome and support for further strengthening the longstanding ties between the two nations.
Accompanying the Ambassador at the event was his spouse, Aminath Fareesha.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and China date back to October 14, 1972, marking over five decades of partnership. Dr Najeeb’s appointment as the fifth Maldivian Ambassador to China emphasises the enduring relationship and continued commitment to bilateral cooperation.
