Minister of State for Cities, Local Government and Public works, Uz Moosa Fathuhee Adam, has stated that Maldives is on the path to recovery and stability due to the leadership and foresight of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

Speaking on MMTV’s Bodu Khabaru programme, Uz Moosa Fathuhee credited the President’s commitment to advancing and maintaining the rule of law and upholding the Constitution as key factors in addressing the challenges inherited from the previous administration.

He noted that the last-minute budget submitted by the previous government during the transitional period reflected financial mismanagement and would have driven the state towards bankruptcy.

Uz Moosa Fathuhee remarked that the Government inherited a heavy debt burden, coupled with challenges posed by corruption and financial mismanagement, which had made it difficult to deliver basic services.

He further remarked that the current Administration has taken strategic steps to restructure the State’s finances and rebuild the economy.
