The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has extended the deadline to apply for land and flats under the Government’s housing schemes, giving applicants additional time to complete submissions.

Applications will now be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on May 31 across six categories under the programme.

The extension applies to six categories, including the special category for applicants who hold documentation confirming they were to receive flats under the ‘Veshifahi Malé’ or ‘Hiyaa’ projects but have not been handed over units, as well as persons with disabilities applying for flats. It also covers residential land allocations for Malé residents, Category 1 of the “Binveriya” Special Scheme for applicants seeking separate land after joint applications, Category 2 for those applying for land by relinquishing previously owned flats, and land allotments issued under the “Goathigedhoru” programme.

Under the housing initiative, a total of 15,000 land plots measuring 1,250 square feet and 7,900 flats are to be allocated to applicants.
