Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has handed over a total of 125 plots under the Hulhumalé Phase III housing project.
The handover process began on 26 March, with authorities proceeding with the signing of agreements and registry transfers for recipients. Overall, 698 plots have been allocated under the project. So far, 451 recipients have signed their agreements.
The development follows earlier allocations made under the previous government’s Binveriya scheme, where land was designated before reclamation. The current Administration has since reclaimed 63 hectares of land in Hulhumalé Phase III to facilitate the project.
Hulhumalé Phase III includes seven plot sizes, ranging from 1,650 square feet to 4,000 square feet, catering to different housing needs. The allocation of plots was determined through a lottery held on 20 December.
The Ministry stated that the process of handing over land and completing documentation for recipients is ongoing.
