The Privatization and Corporatization Board has appointed Hussain Fahmy as the Managing Director of Malé Water and Sewerage Company, following the resignation of his predecessor Abdul Matheen Mohamed.

Fahmy previously served as Principal Secretary to the President for Policy and Manifesto. He also held the position of Managing Director of State Electric Company (STELCO) during the current Administration, after a long tenure with the company.

Fahmy brings extensive experience to the position, having served at STELCO for over 27 years since joining the company as a trainee in 1988 and later rising to senior management roles, including General Manager and Managing Director.

The appointment forms part of recent changes to the leadership of MWSC, with the Board also announcing updates to its composition alongside the new managing director.
