The Maldives and Saudi Arabia have held discussions on strengthening defence cooperation during a meeting between Minister of Defence and National Service and Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani.

The talks took place during a courtesy call by the ambassador, where both sides focused on enhancing existing defence ties between the two countries.

During the meeting, the minister expressed appreciation for the continued support extended by the Government of Saudi Arabia towards the development of the Maldives’ defence sector.

The engagement reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation, with Saudi Arabia remaining a key partner to the Maldives across multiple sectors, including defence and institutional development.
