Development Bank of Maldives (DBM) CEO Noel Gregor Patterson-Jones has emphasised that the initiatives of the Institute of Charted Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) will play a key role in increasing investor confidence in the Maldives.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the IFRS and ISAs Forum, the largest accounting forum in the country, Patterson-Jones underscored the importance of maintaining high standards in auditing and financial reporting.

He emphasised that the confidence of foreign investors in core industries depends on the strength and transparency of financial reporting. He further stated that efforts by CA Maldives to uphold financial reporting standards could significantly contribute to sustainable economic growth by fostering trust and accountability.

The IFRS and ISA Forum, organised by CA Maldives, is being held from 14 to 15 December 2024 and has registered approximately 300 participants. Now in its third year, the forum was first introduced in 2022 and continues to serve as a platform for knowledge-sharing, professional dialogue, and skill enhancement among accountants and auditors in the Maldives.

Established in 2020 under the Chartered Accountants of Maldives Act, CA Maldives aims to align local practices with global standards and advance the profession through key initiatives.
