Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef has launched a special weekly press briefing programme aimed at strengthening engagement with journalists and improving access to Government information.

The first session of the programme, titled “Presser With the Spox”, was held today.

Speaking at the inaugural briefing, Shareef said he would meet with journalists every Thursday to provide the latest updates on Government work and share information needed for ongoing news coverage. He said the initiative is intended to make it easier for journalists to access timely and accurate information from the Government.

Spokesperson Shareef, each briefing will last 55 minutes and will aim to answer as many questions as possible. He also assured that additional information would be provided when required.

He further stated that audio, video and the latest updates on Government projects would also be shared through Instagram and TikTok.

As part of the initiative, he has launched new social media accounts under the name “TheFeed.mv” on both Instagram and TikTok.
