President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated National Identity Card and Electronic Passport services at the Maldives High Commission in Colombo, during his ongoing State Visit to Sri Lanka.

The services were launched during a visit to the mission on Tuesday morning, where the President and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed were received by Maldives High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Masood Imad, and staff.

President Dr Muizzu toured the premises, signed the guestbook and met with staff following the inauguration.

The President also visited the Maldives Cultural Centre Colombo, where he reviewed services provided to Maldivians living in Sri Lanka. The centre, located at Sosun Villa, offers Dhivehi language classes and Islamic education for the community.

Members of the official delegation accompanied the President and First Lady during the visits.
