President Dr  Mohamed Muizzu attended the launch of new products by Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company in Colombo, as part of his ongoing state visit to Sri Lanka.

The event marked the introduction of value-added fisheries products, alongside a cultural culinary showcase featuring a traditional ‘Malaafaiy’ prepared using the newly launched items. The initiative reflects efforts to expand Maldivian fisheries products into international markets.

Sri Lanka’s Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, Wasantha Samarasinghe, also attended the event and highlighted its importance in strengthening trade cooperation between the two countries.

During the programme, President Dr Muizzu toured the exhibition area, reviewed the product range and sampled dishes prepared as part of the showcase.
