Former Deputy Attorney General Uza Fathimath Dhiyana Saeed has described President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s leadership style as distinctive and rarely seen, highlighting his close engagement with citizens during his recent visit to Sri Lanka.
Dhiyana made the remarks in a social media post reflecting on her experience after attending a gathering hosted by President Dr Muizzu for Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka during his official visit to the country.
She noted that she had previously served under several administrations and observed different leadership styles over the years. However, she said the reception in Sri Lanka provided her with the first opportunity to closely witness President Dr Muizzu’s leadership approach.
Dhiyana added that one of the most notable aspects of the President’s conduct was his willingness to personally meet every citizen who wished to speak with him. She said President Dr Muizzu listened attentively to the concerns raised by attendees, took notes where necessary, and posed for photographs with those who requested them.
Dhiyana further stated that even after 10:30 p.m., the President continued meeting members of the public at the event. She added that similar interactions had also taken place during the President’s recent visit to Malaysia.
She described the President’s accessibility and attentiveness towards citizens as a remarkable quality and commended his approach to public engagement.
