Environment Ministry conducts wildlife trade control training for customs officers

The Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy conducted a training programme for enforcement officers of the Maldives Customs Service.

The programme focused on strengthening implementation of the International Trade Control of Endangered Species Act and the CITES Convention in the Maldives.

The training also covered species identification and the role of customs officers at ports and borders in regulating and controlling wildlife trade.
