Over 2,000 students have registered on the official list of foreign students studying abroad. 

The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour, and Skill Development on Monday confirmed to MMTV that a total of 2,116 have registered so far.

The list, which was initiated in April this year, includes local students pursuing education overseas through various means such as bilateral scholarships, Government scholarships, and Government loans.

According to the Ministry, the registry currently comprises 915 male students and 1,201 female students.

The purpose of compiling this list, as stated by the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour, and Skill Development, is to simplify the process of monitoring and overseeing the activities of students studying outside the country.
