President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has established the Citizens’ Complaints Bureau to address public grievances and improve engagement between the Government and citizens.

The bureau, set up under the President’s Office, will operate as a 24-hour service, allowing the public to submit complaints and concerns through multiple platforms. The initiative was first announced during the Presidential Address 2026 to the People’s Majlis on February 5.

Preparations are currently underway to recruit staff and complete administrative arrangements, with operations expected to begin in the middle of the year.

The service will manage complaints through a centralised digital system, coordinating with relevant government authorities to gather responses and address issues raised by the public. A 24-hour call centre will also be established as part of the initiative.

The initiative aims to streamline complaint handling and ensure timely responses to concerns raised by citizens.
