President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reconstituted the Special Cabinet Committee formed to respond to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting held on April 15, following recent reshuffle of the Cabinet. The committee was initially established on February 28 to monitor developments and coordinate the Government’s response to the situation.

Under the revised structure, the committee is chaired by Moosa Zameer, Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises. Other members include Iruthisham Adam, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Economic Development, Transport and Trade; Ahmed Shiyam, Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources; and Mohamed Ameen, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
