Bank of Maldives has renewed its partnership with the Maldives Surfing Association in efforts to support the development of surfing in the Maldives.

The renewed agreement will see the bank continue its sponsorship of the national junior and senior surfing teams, alongside support for the National Junior Surfing Championship, which focuses on developing young athletes in the sport.

The partnership between BML and MSA was first launched in 2022 and later extended in 2024. The latest renewal continues support for national surfing activities and athlete development programmes organised by the association.

The bank has continued to support a number of youth and sports-related initiatives through collaborations with national sporting bodies and development programmes across the country.

BML also works with the Maldives Olympic Committee under a sports scholarship initiative aimed at supporting athletes pursuing advanced international training opportunities. According to the bank, the latest recipient of the programme is a national surfer scheduled to undertake training programmes in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines.
