Travellers visiting Sri Lanka for tourism will once again be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before arrival, starting from 25 May.

The requirement, which had been suspended in November last year, is being reintroduced under a revised travel policy announced by the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Maldives.

In a notice issued by the High Commission, all foreign nationals travelling to Sri Lanka for tourism purposes were advised to apply for an ETA prior to departure. Applications can be submitted through Sri Lanka’s official ETA portal.

The High Commission also stated that Maldivian travellers will continue to be eligible for a 90-day tourist visa without any additional fee.
