Applications have opened for this year's President's Award for Special Achievement, with nominations invited until August 31 for individuals recognised for exceptional academic, professional and national achievements.
The award, which will be presented during this year's Republic Day celebrations, recognises accomplishments across four broad areas, including academic excellence, international achievements, innovation and research, and contributions by young people to national development. Applications must be submitted through the President's Office online application portal before 2:00 p.m. on the closing date.
According to the eligibility criteria published by the Special Awards Committee, the academic category includes recipients of Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) Level 10 qualifications and graduates who achieved the highest academic honours in MQA Level 7, 8 and 9 programmes. Other categories recognise Maldivians who have excelled in international competitions and exhibitions, individuals whose research and innovations address national priorities, and young people aged between 18 and 35 whose work has made significant contributions to the country's development.
The committee has advised applicants to carefully review the published guidelines and ensure all supporting documents are properly completed and submitted with their applications.
