Slovenia's Non-Resident Ambassador to the Maldives, Tomaž Mencin, presented his Letter of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held at the President's Office today. The Ambassador was escorted to the ceremony in a traditional Haiykolhu procession accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.

Following the ceremony, President Dr Muizzu and Ambassador Mencin discussed cooperation in tourism, climate change, environmental protection and sustainable development. The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Slovenia were established on 4 March 1996.
