The Maldives Police Service has confirmed that Adam Ibrahim, the 34-year-old man reported missing in Gaafu Dhaalu Nadellaa, has been found safe.

He was located at approximately 4:45 p.m. today on an uninhabited island near Nadellaa, according to a police statement on social media. Authorities said he is in good condition.

Adam was found by a team of police officers and Nadellaa residents, with the Coast Guard joining the search earlier in the day. Police said ten uninhabited islands in the Nadellaa lagoon were searched, along with multiple areas on the island.

He had disembarked at Nadellaa around 2:00 p.m. on May 11 from a boat that had docked nearby but failed to return. A missing person report was filed at around 10:25 p.m., prompting an immediate search operation.

Police added that an investigation is ongoing, as there are additional matters requiring examination.
