President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended Independence Day greetings to the people of the Maldives as the country celebrates its 61st Independence Day.

In his message marking the occasion, the President congratulated Maldivians and paid tribute to the heroes who sacrificed for the nation’s freedom.

President Dr Muizzu said the most important responsibility of the present generation is to preserve the independence achieved through the sacrifices of their ancestors. He highlighted the importance of promoting patriotism, strengthening the capacity of youth, maintaining pride in independence, and building stronger connections across society.

The President urged Maldivians to uphold these values and continue moving forward together for the progress and development of the nation.
